One of the many pleasures of our work is following our clients through their life journey.
We met Natalie and Chris at a wedding event many years ago, and instantly clicked, and a few months later we were able to document one of the most beautiful, and fun, weddings we have ever had the privilege of attending.
We love it when our clients contact us and insist that we document the next chapter in their lives. In Natalie and Chris’ case, it was to visit their home and photograph their beautiful baby daughter, Isabelle.
We prefer to photograph family sessions in our client’s home whenever possible, especially during the autumn and winter months when it is cold outside. Photographing at home instantly puts baby and parents at ease, and eliminates the hassle of travel. It also allows us to schedule the session around baby’s feeding times and sleep patterns.
Photographing newborns and babies can be a little more challenging that your average photography session. The general consensus between camera manufacturers is that flash photography should not be used for children under six months old; this is because the eye is still developing. So, photographing newborns requires a warm room and lots of natural light.
In our experience, babies usually give us a 45 minute window of opportunity before they have had enough, but Isabelle was an absolute joy to capture, and it was over an hour before she required a feed and a nappy change. What a star!
We are always delighted when we see Natalie and Chris, and MP could easily have spent the rest of the day chatting with them.
Their family and baby photography collection contains over 100 images and it has been difficult to share a mini-collection. However, we have managed to select 30ish images and these can be viewed below.
As always, enjoy! :-)
