Why is professional photography important?
Your wedding photographs are one of the few permanent records of your special day.
Quite simply, it should be left in the hands of professionals and not with amateurs, friends or family. The national press regularly publish stories about wedding 'photographers' who have delivered poor quality photography, lost memory cards or, haven't delivered photography in a timely manner.
Is it really worth the risk?
What is your style of photography?
As you can see from Mark Pugh's portfolio, his style of photography is beautiful fine art.
His main aim is to capture the story and atmosphere of your wedding, so that you can relive your special memories and spend time with your family and friends. However, he is always happy to accommodate any formal photograph requests on demand during your wedding day.
Mark Pugh receives ongoing compliments about the quality of his work from how relaxed people feel around him, to "I had no idea you were at the wedding!". Of course, no-one can make themselves completely invisible, but Mark always takes the approach that it's your wedding, and he is there to capture those important moments. Mark is not not there to boss people around or take control: He is simply there to record your special day.
Do you capture formal photographs?
Mark Pugh is happy to take formal portraits on request, and these can be dealt with in a matter of minutes. This 'hands off' approach leaves you to enjoy your day with your friends and family.
How do you keep the quality of your photography at such a high level?
Mark Pugh limits the number of weddings he captures in the United Kingdom and internationally every year to ensure the quality of his work remains of the highest possible standard and you receive the level of attention you deserve.
Can I tailor my own Wedding Photography Option?
I am in the public eye / in a prominent position and require discretion. Is this a problem?
No. We have a number of clients who have emphasised how important it is that we do not share their photographs or details about their wedding because of status. We are also happy to sign NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements) on request. We provide different levels of publicity, the default being ‘no publicity', and these will be discussed during your Wedding Consultation.
How far will you travel?
Because of our central location in England, Mark Pugh can capture weddings all over the country. He also captures two to five weddings internationally each year and he does not charge for travel expenses.
Will you come and see us before the wedding?
Of course. Mark Pugh will endeavour to meet with you at least twice before your wedding. For international clients, he will meet, speak on the telephone, or video conference using Skype or Facetime. If Mark is in your country prior to your wedding, and you are available, his team will arrange an appointment for you to meet him in person.
What if it rains on my wedding day?
It's not a problem, and must be expected when photographing in the United Kingdom. Mark Pugh can adapt his style to any kind of weather, and many of his award-winning photographs have been captured in weather conditions that others may think is impossible to work in.
Do we have to provide you with food at our wedding?
No, this isn't a problem, but Mark Pugh would be delighted if you were to consider this.
How far ahead can I book you?
As far ahead as you wish. Mark Pugh services operate on a 'First come, first served' basis, and it is not uncommon for Mark to have bookings 2-3 years in advance. There is, however, a screening process and this is discussed from your initial enquiry.
Do I need to pay a deposit to secure my wedding date?
There is a small fee of £100.00, and this is non-refundable. The full outstanding balance is due 60 days prior to your wedding date. We are completely flexible with payments, and these can be spread over several months or nearer the time of your wedding. If you would like to discuss a price plan, then you can do so with MP's Accounts Department.
Will my photographs be available online?
Yes, you can have an optional V.I.P. gallery and JPEG/Photo Gallery Access Cards that feature a unique image from your wedding.
How long will it take before you present my photographs?
MP aims to turn-around your wedding photography collection within 4-8 weeks and a maximum of nine weeks during peak season from May to September.
Will you come and see us after our wedding?
Of course. We use the Post-Wedding Consultation meeting to present your photography to you. Some clients use this as an opportunity to have their friends and family around for a get-together. This consultation meeting is your 'Wedding Memories Presentation' and it is a very important part of the service MP delivers. There will be some surprises during the presentation, and MP is renowned for the quality of the end-products and gifts you receive.
Do you restrict the number of photographs in my wedding photography collection?
No. All photographs of merit will be supplied at no extra cost. Wedding photography collections contain between 250 - 800+ images.
Do you provide any special services after my special day?
Yes. Mark Pugh's team organise ongoing promotions, ranging from maternity, baby and family portrait sessions. These additional services can be discussed at any time.
